Marian was an amazingly kind and generous person. And of course she was a tireless worker who loved to help the seniors and volunteer teachers and helpers at her beloved Shepherd's Welcome Centre, now the 50+ Activity Centre. I had the privilege of working with Marian during my 8 years on the board of the Centre. With her vast experience, she kept me on the right track.
Sincere condolences to Marian's family and friends. She will be missed.

Thoughts from the Brockville 50+ Activity Centre:
Marian dedicated over 15 years of her life to the betterment of our centre, and her impact is immeasurable. As the office manager for an extended period, Marian was the heart and soul of the organization. Her unwavering commitment, tireless work ethic, and infectious enthusiasm have left an indelible mark on all of us.
Not only did Marian serve as the office manager, but she also held positions as Vice President and President at various times. Her leadership was marked by a rare combination of wisdom, grace, and a genuine love for the community she served. Under her guidance, the Brockville 50+ Activity Centre thrived, not just activities but also friendship and commitment to one another.
Marian's dedication went beyond the call of duty. She spent countless hours in the 3rd-floor office, where she became the face of our organization. Her warm smile and welcoming presence made everyone feel at home. Her selflessness was unparalleled, and her commitment to the well-being of our members was evident in every action she took.
During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, when many of us were separated physically, Marian worked tirelessly from home. She dedicated herself to inputting data from our registrations, ensuring that our community remained connected.
Marian's generosity and kindness have touched us all. Her impact will be felt for years to come, and her absence leaves a void that will be challenging to fill. We will remember Marian not only for her dedication to 50+ but also for the warmth of her heart and the compassion in her actions.
As we mourn the loss of a dear friend, let us also celebrate the life of Marian Rafferty. Let her legacy inspire us to continue the work she began and to cherish the bonds of friendship that make our center a special place. On January 9, 2024 we are dedicating our Registration Day at the Brockville Memorial Centre to her memory.
