Father Roy was a lovely neighbour when we lived on Butterfield Place. He would often spend time talking with my husband Dave Thompson. On occasion we would go out to dinner with him at Lunas. We enjoyed our week with him when he stayed with us a week before Christmas, in Kingston. Unfortunately, it was to assist him for radiation treatments for his cancer, but he was a trooper and still full of conversation. Rest In Peace Father Roy. ❤️Sue Runciman

Dear Family of Father Nixon,
Sending very caring condolences to you all. I had the pleasure and the benefit of working with Father Nixon .
His gentle ways, caring, thoughtfulness and spiritual devotion always shone through, to comfort and uplift the hospital patients that he cared so very much about.
He always seemed a bright spot when he walked on the ward, with his radiant smile.
Joan Sands.

I have know Father Roy since the early 50's, he never changed from a thoughtful, kind and a very caring friend and an advisor to me. Since he has been so very ill, he still managed to show those in grief a loving and constructive pathway in spite of his own health failing. Although, there were long periods when I did not speak with him, when I did I was surprised and in awe that he knew what had happened in the interim on my life's journey. I will miss his special voice, encouragement and wise counsel. Sincere sympathy to Fr Roy's family from Millie Craig

I was reading some condolence cards I received at the time of my husband’s death this week and I came across a beautiful card from Father Nixon. We first met him at the coffee shop and the market downtown where he would buy cookies. What a wonderful man and so kind. As he wrote in my card about my husband, I say now, “ Rest in peace dear man in God’s eternal care”
