I am saddened to hear of Alistairs' passing - but comforted knowing he was at home, with a wee smile on his face.
I had the pleasure of meeting Alistair at the Lansdowne Medical Centre. His warmth, and charisma quickly made him a "favourite" of mine.
Through pain, illness, treatment, his charm remained the same. His love for Karen and the dogs remained steadfast.
One day, I mentioned to Alistair that my husband was gifted a set of pipes. He hoped to learn to play.
Everytime I spoke to Alistair since mentioning that to him, he asked how the pipes were coming along.
I hope to one day raise a glass, listen to my husband play his gifted pipes, and remember Alistair. May he rest in peace.

Karen and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Please know I’m thinking of you always and sending my love. Thinking of Alistair and his smile brings back many happy memories. I always loved when he played the bagpipes for me on my birthday or when I could go watch him in a parade. I still recite the toast that he taught me 20 years ago and I'm excited to share it when I meet a Scotsman. I laugh remembering him showing up to go skating with us and he had the oldest skates I had ever seen but oh boy did he know how to skate. He tried to teach me some astronomy which I was terrible at back then but now I think of him every time I look up and can actually identify something. Alistair was so very important to our family for many years and he will be missed but he will always be remembered with a big smile. Love Rachel

Karen and family. So very sorry to have read Al’s obituary. While it has been a long time since we had seen each other, fond memories of our time in TO flooded back. He was a very good friend. Very very sorry for your loss.

I was so saddened to hear the awful news. I’m going to miss your emails and FaceTime phone calls here in Scotland. You and my mum and dad were close. I hope you get a dram with them in heaven. So many happy memories. Lorna xx

We were very much saddened to learn of Alistair’s passing. This is a profound loss for you, Karen, and we cannot imagine your grief. May your loving memories of Alistair bring you peace, comfort, and strength. Words are inadequate, but please know that you are in our thoughts.
Stewart and Alistair, both Scots by birth, shared a love of bagpipes. They also shared more than a few drams of single malt over the years. Working together in the Brockville Pipes & Drums — Stewart as Pipe Major and Alistair as Drum Major — led to a deep and caring friendship, although, as you know, that did take time to develop.
Alistair’s sense of humour, generosity, and positive attitude was a blessing to us all. He will be remembered and deeply missed.

My deepest sympathy Karen during this difficult time. My heart aches for you. I'll always remember Alistair's positive, glass half full attitude. He certainly lived life to the fullest and enriched the lives of all who knew him. Keith & I had a dram of scotch last night to celebrate his birthday and honour a life well lived. Sure going to miss him.

Alistair was one of my best friends when he lived in Chelsea. We often golfed together, and Alistair always insisted that after the round of golf, that we had a tailgate party, which consisted of pickled eggs, crackers and two cold beers each.
I had the privilege of joining Al for a drive with our cars.
I will miss him dearly
