Obituary of Colin Burnett

Colin Burnett 1941-2024

It is with a heart full of sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Colin, just shy of his 83rd birthday.

Colin was born in Sarnia where he enjoyed his childhood with his parents and his brother.

He later moved to London Ont. to attend Western University where he completed a Masters Degree in Philosophy.

Colin worked in several facets of the Federal Government of Canada, most recently and from the position he retired,  Foreign Affairs.

He had several passions including cycling, golf, wine and travelling with his chosen partner Anne.

Colin had a great mind, to prove that his study of Philosophy suited him immensely. He could tell stories from his memories for hours, as long as there was an audience to listen.

Colin is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anne McDonell and his faithful companion Marcus, also by his brother Jim (Bonnie), niece Carole and her family, and nephew Jim. He is also survived by Anne’s family in New Zealand.

Cremation has taken place and as per his wishes there will be no service.

Rememberance donations can be made in Colin’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the CNIB.
