Giles Loshaw

Obituary of Giles Patrick Loshaw

After a long and courageous battle, Giles Loshaw passed away at the Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday August 28, 2024, at the age of 60. Dear son of Patricia Grills (Carman) and Giles Loshaw (Sr.). Loving husband of April Edgley for 16 years. Brother of Bill Loshaw (Kim), and Penny McClintock (Ken). Uncle to Lucas Loshaw, Paige Greene (Tyler), and Madison McClintock, and great uncle to Savannah Greene. Giles will be missed by all, including his close friend and canine companion, Mika.

In his younger years, Giles was a talented athlete who excelled at hockey and baseball. Throughout his adult life, he was an avid sports fan, and he followed most sports, and many sports teams, especially the Montreal Canadiens. He also enjoyed the social aspect of life and many friendships.

Giles moved away from this area in his late teens to live in Alberta where he worked in the oil fields. He then moved to British Columbia where he worked in construction. Giles returned to the Brockville region in 2008 and continued to work in this field.

Shortly after returning to this area, he met April and together they travelled throughout the scenic landscapes of Ontario, Quebec, and the maritime provinces for as long as his health would allow. Their travels were a testament to their shared joy in discovering new places and enjoying life together.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brockville Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 96 on Saturday September 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has kindly suggested donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada, reflecting Giles' battle with these illnesses and the causes that were close to his heart. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St., E., Brockville. Messages of condolence can be left at www.barclayfuneralhome.com
