I was very sad to hear about Harold's passing. We became friends in high school (Northern Secondary) and later in life I had the pleasure of reuniting with him and met his lovely wife, Susan. At that time we both had a "Bella" in our lives! I would like to offer my condolences to Susan and Harold's family. Rest in peace my friend; you will never be forgotten.

Harold and I worked together in Kingston. He was the strong, visionary leader that Kingston Fire and Rescue needed at a pivotal time in the department's growth and development as an integrated urban/rural service. He was a valued colleague. His deep baritone voice, infectious laugh and ever- present mischievous twinkle in the eyes still resonate with me.
Susan and family, my sincere condolences . Lance

My deepest sympathies go out to Mark and all the rest of Harold's family.
The Chief came in to my life when I was just out of high school & directionless. I was Mark's babysitter when he was 3-4 years old, I spent alot of time with the family & especially with Harold at the morning coffee club at the old 401 Inn. He really helped me figure things out & was instrumental in me finally joining the Canadian Forces (he did 3 years in the Navy you know .. haha). It was the best decision and has served me for my whole adult life. Thanks Chief, you were a "heck" of a guy.

My Uncle Harold……Harold was my fathers cousin. As a young girl I was able to spend quite a bit of time in the summers at my Uncle Harold’s house. He was my idol and my hero. Some of my fondest childhood memories were spending time with him, him teaching me how to swim, cuddling on his lap, and spending time with him and Kelly, his German shepherd. I know he always said he was a bit gruff and rough around the edges but he really was the kindest soul. Although I didn’t get to spend time with him in my adulthood, as life happens, I was so very grateful we had the chance to reconnect for the last 5 years. He’s is truly one of a kind. My deepest condolences to Susan, Mark and the family. Susan will always be his forever soulmate.
Love you all,
Ashley
