Obituary of Ted Ryan

Ted Jerry Allan Ryan, 81 years of age, of Brockville, passed away on Thursday October 10, 2024 peacefully, at home surrounded by his family.

Ted was born in Brockville to Phyllis and Edgerton (Ted) Ryan.  As a teen, he loved spending his time playing baseball and plinking with guns. He joined the team at Phillips Cables and stayed there until it closed in 1996. 

At the age of 15 he met Sandra Mary Harper. They fell in love and got married on July 17th 1965 after Sandra finished her nursing degree. After travelling and establing themselves, they welcome two boys. Taylor (1974) and Mathew (1977). Ted was an avid golfer and could often be found walking 18 holes daily. His family meant the absolute world to him. He could often be found surrounded by friends, smoking his pipe with a scotch and sharing stories.

Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Ted and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. His wife, aka his Baby Doll, was his absolute world. Ted could often be found in his later years, listening to The Jackie Gleason Orchestra and sharing his infamous "Ted Talks" with all.

In addition to Sandi, Ted is  is survived by his sons, Taylor (Keri) and Mathew (Betty-Ann). His grandchildren, Alex Thompson (Brooke), Erika Thompson (Nick), Cameron Ryan (Kaydence), Harmony McGaffey and Joshua Fournier (Haley).

At Ted's request, there will be no funeral service. We ask that you reminisce and have a toast in his memory.
