Obituary of Gerald Wayne MacAfee

MacAfee, Gerald Wayne – At Brockville General Hospital on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the age of 71, after a brave three-month illness with duodenal cancer. Dear husband of Laura MacAfee, loving father of Aimee, Carrie (Brad Simms) of Toronto and Nolan (Katalijn) of Kanata. Adoring grandpa to Carice. Brother to Patricia (Gary Murray) of Cassidy Lake N.B. and Allan (Mary) of Bedford, N.S. Also survived by his step-mother Marion MacAfee of Sussex, New Brunswick, his aunt Agnes Devins of Shelburne, Vermont, two nieces, two nephews, cousins and several brothers- and sisters-in-law. Predeceased by his parents. Friends and family are asked to join the family at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville, on Friday, June 6, 2014, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for memorial donations to First Baptist Church, Friends of Mac Johnson Wildlife Area, or Brockville and District Association for Community Involvement (BDACI). The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Kingston General Hospital, and the palliative care nurses at Brockville General Hospital, both Charles and Garden Street sites.
