Anne Gilbert Painter, Photographer, Dietitian and long time resident of Brockville died Thursday September 28th. 2006. She was the beloved wife and partner of the late L.J. (Bill) Gilbert and mother of Jeffery T. Gilbert and Emily A. Young. Grandmother to Sarah, Jennifer, Jeffery Jr. and Christopher Gilbert, Adrian and Fred James Fournier. Great-Grandmother of Sadie (Sarah). She was predeceased by her brothers William and Frederick Parker. Born Anne Louise Parker in Ottawa, Ontario on October 28th. 1920 she attended schools in Montreal Quebec and then McGill University, graduating as a Dietitian in 1942. She married Leslie James (Bill) Gilbert in 1950 and moved to Brockville in 1952 when Dupont was starting up at Maitland. They enjoyed boating on the St. Lawrence and Rideau waterway, then cottaging on Newboro Lake and more recently their winter trips to Florida. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception to celebrate her life at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. East Brockville on Friday October 13th. 2006 at 11:00 a.m. A private ceremony will be held at Oakland Cemetery at a later date.
