Obituary of Cleora McConnell

Peacefully into the arms of her Lord, on Thursday August 31, 2006 at Windsor Regional Hospital with loved ones by her side. In her 90th year. Cleora was the last surviving member of the 9 children of Frederick and Fern (Fredenburg) McConnell of Lansdowne. She was predeceased by her parents, 4 brothers Ford, Howard (Imogene), William and Douglas and 4 sisters Dorothy (Bruce) Gray, Mildred, Patricia (Bert) Avery and Shirley. Known as "Cogie" to her adoring nieces and nephews, she was proud to have many great nieces and nephews and was thrilled to welcome Emma and Sara Avery and Harrison Nizman as "great- greats". Cherished Aunt of Maxine and Richard Hutt, Norman and Susan Avery, Brian and Leona Gordon of Brockville and area, Susan de Foor of Red Deer, Alberta and Joani McConnell-Davis of Delmar, Delaware, their families Erin Bycroft, Kim and Alan Archer, Ethan and Caleb, Christopher and Jennifer Avery, Emma and Sara, Leslee and Cedric Nizman, Harrison and Remie de Foor. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Beverly (David) Lynch of Hamilton, Barbara Smallman-Tew of Kingston and Gary (Betty Lou) Gray of Abbotsford BC and their families. Cleora was a faithful adherent of Parkwood Gospel Temple, Windsor and leaves many dear freinds especially Gwen Cromar, Paulette Oulette, Luba Sytnyk, Audrey and Al Saunders and M. "Kitty" Courtney. And also her lifelong friends Vera Warren of Brockville and Helen Abrahams of Gananoque. Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home 1033 Prince St. Lansdowne on Saturday September 16, 2006 from 1-2 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. In memoriams to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
