Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, on Monday October 16th, 2006 at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville Ont. with his wife by his side. William Leyland Layfield of Kingston aged 78 years. Beloved husband of 57 years to Grace Layfield. Dear father of Mathew Layfield (Gail Hitchcock) of Toronto and Susan Layfield-Dowell (Barry Marshall) of Prescott. Dear grandfather to Sarah, Brock, Tristan and Ashton Layfield. Survived by brothers John (Jack) of Deseronto and Charles (Gus) of Sydenham. Predeceased by brothers Ronald of Harrowsmith and Robert of New Brunswick and Alfred Schultz of Kingston. Friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. East Brockville on Friday October 20th, 2006 from 1p.m. until 2p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Brockville.
