Doug’s Spirit is Free after his defiant 15 month battle with cancer, at home in Rockport on Monday March 10, 2014. Douglas Ford Johnston age 61 years, beloved son of Ethel (Andress) and the late Donald Johnston, dear brother of Eddy Johnston (Betty) of Ardoch, Dick Johnston (Judy) of Rockport, Elaine Johnston (Guy Villebrun) of Fort McMurray, Wendy Merkley (Art) and Eugene Johnston (Donna) all of Rockport. Doug is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, Lansdowne on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday March 14, 2014 from 12 – 1:45 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Rockport Cemetery. In memory of Doug, donations to the St. Lawrence District Medical Centre Building Project, the Rockport Rec Hall or the Rockport Protestant Cemetery would be would be gratefully acknowledged by the family
