Sadness at Passing of a Good friend and Great soldier
Joan and I would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Ann and family at the passing of Len. He had a profound influence on my career choice and without his guidance I would not have had the successful military career that I was fortunate to have. He was a great friend to not only myself but to all who knew him. The world is a bit sadder today at his loss. Rest in peace my friend Pro Patria.

Achieving Success
He has achieved success
who has lived well,
laughed often,
and loved much;
Who has enjoyed the trust of pure women,
the respect of intelligent men,
and the love of little children;
Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
Who has left the world better than he found it…
whether by an improved poppy,
a perfect poem,
or a rescued soul;
Who has never lacked an appreciation
for Earth’s beauty
or failed to express it;
Who has always looked for the best in others
and has given them the best he had;
Whose life was an inspiration…
whose memory a benediction.

Dear Ann and family,
Wayne and I met Len through the Legion and my dad, Hugh Gaffney. Wayne remembers playing darts with him on Monday nights. Ann and Family...I am so sorry for your loss of Len. His presence at our Legion was always welcome along with the spirited banter associated with the Senators and Leafs fans. I enjoyed the days we marched together from City Hall to the Cenotaph on Remembrance Days and the camaraderie afterwards at the Branch where many a tale were told. We will miss this great soldier and friend, Rest In Peace.

Just a note to the family
We, here at Sunnidell loved and respected Len as a member of our family. Although we only met him in September when we bought the place... we quickly, like day One, became very fond of Len for his youthful personality, army man that he was. But mostly the way he took us in and introduced to the good people of Brockville, His love for the game we love...
He sure will be missed by us and all of our members.
We are so very sorry for his loss and please accept our condolences and respect for the man we all lost.
RIP

When I was a confused teenager I walked into the Armories of the Brockville Rifles. I met a man that would change my life. Sgt Delaney taught me discipline and self respect. How to lead and not follow. I thought very highly of him. When I applied for the Brockville Police Dept the Deputy Chief at the time, Jack Wylie, told me he had called the Rifles. He spoke to Sgt Len Delaney who said , hire him you will have no regrets. They did. I will miss our Senator/Leafs banter. Always a smile and a smart comment. I thank you and will miss you! Fly high and thank you.
