Edith: I am so sorry for your loss of Darrell, you were always at the hospital every day & Darrell had such a wonderful smile on his face, seeing you come to spend the day with him. I loved his smile, you always had a beautiful smile too, & when Darrell was moved to the Lodge you both were missed. I loved it when you had a treat for Darrell & when he saw the treat he gave you a big smile. God Bless You in these coming days, you are in my prayers. Sincerely MaryLou Price.

"Uncle Dick"...this is the way I grew up knowing my darling Uncle! My mother loved him and naturally we grew up sharing those emotions. Uncle Dick was kind...a gentle soul who did what he could for his entire family. He was gracious and considerate with out being overtly demonstrative. I loved him, I will always love him and his smiling face and infectious laugh...his pride when listening to the tapes of Uncle Norton singing and playing! His capacity for humour and a good card game. The absolute joy at watching and listening to Uncle Dick and Gerald Weaver in their playful banter. I feel 'Blessed' to have an uncle like Darrell Ward. And I'm Grateful beyond measure, to have experienced the love and respect we two shared.
Love, As Always, Sandy & Rick

Dear Uncle Darrell or Uncle Dick as he was known by his sister Leona's children, you will be missed. Your gentleness and humour, twinkling eyes and ever ready smile made the world a better place. Although we didn't see you as often as we would have liked, you were always in our hearts.
Dear Aunt Edith, there are really no words that will comfort right now. You have lost your soul mate. Uncle Darrell couldn't have asked for a more dedicated loving partner always and in particular through this last challenging journey. We know he is at peace and whole again.
Love Jeanette and Steve

Our hearts are sad to hear of Uncle Darrell’s passing. My husband and I are so grateful that we had the chance to visit him a couple of years ago after his stroke and to reminisce about the visits we had with he and Aunt Edith in Doaktown, NB at the hcabin. We have fond memories of those visits and card games and enjoyable lunches and libations. Uncle Darrell was a quiet, humble sensitive man who loved and adored Aunt Edith and their devotion to each other spoke volumes to us. He was a strong and gentle soul and we will miss him. Although we are unable to attend his service we know that God has called him to his eternal home and now rests peacefully in God’s loving arms. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Edith and all the family.
Blessings and Peace

To Edith and Darrell’s family, please accept our condolences at this sad time. We have known Darrell for well over fifty years and have many wonderful memories of him from his younger years. Darrell was youth leader at Brockville Tabernacle and drove Sunday School bus throughout the back country bringing many children to church on Sunday. He made a great impact on many children and young people. He was indeed a gentleman.

Edith received your e-mail this morning. Both Cheryl and I have so many fond memories of Darrell . He and I were close friends and I was devastated when he had the stroke associated with his operation.
You were a faithful, loving partner during his disability years orienting your whole day around helping him and loving him.
Unfortunately we can only send our love and encouragement being here in Charleston
He was my best man twice and will always be my best man!
