Uncle Mel we are saddened to hear the news of your passing.Sandra and I(Miles) often talked about the family reunion in Golden lake where so many of us got together while we were younger and healthy. The music, the stories ,food and refreshments were certainly better times to remember. All the photos an d the video as well. You will be missed by many. Please say hello to mom and dad for me as well of the rest of the family. Better times are now with you.
Some day we will chat about the great times our family has had and with the younger generation moving forward there new stories.A prayer was said for you and your family at church on Sunday. Enjoy the after life of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Miles and Sandra Dunedin Florida.

Gail, Shelly, Lori and Family - Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you. Having walked this path ourselves not so long ago, we grieve with you, but also rejoice in the "family reunion" that is going on! Uncle Mel is certainly in good hands now...healed from what he feared and set free to soar! We will always remember his kindness towards us, including us and making us really feel like family - the reunions, chance meetings at Brash's, and love of music! He will be in our hearts forever.

Condolences to The Pilatzke family and warm hugs of support to Lorie and Jen at this sad time. I remember when I picked Mel up from Riverview Heights and took him to church with me at St. Timothy's a couple of years ago, he had so many people delighted to see him. They came over and said hi, shook his hand and welcomed him. I think he was a little overwhelmed. But he was well known and well loved in Pembroke and he will be missed.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the death of Mel...Myrna and Mel were our sponser's on our Marriage Encounter week end.We had so many wonderful times together over the years and spent many hours together at Zion. Mel was such a hard worker for his church right up to when his health made things hard for him.
He and Myrna were a great example of a team,in everything they did. And what fun we had with silly games we played during some of our get-to-gethers. Both he and Myrna are deeply missed.

Heartfelt condolences to Mel's family. Since I first got to know Myrna in 1962 at the Pembroke Cottage Hospital where we both worked, our paths have criss-crossed in so many ways with Mel, Myrna, and their family. We are grateful to have had them as companions on our life's journey. Marie and Ben Zettler
