What a guy! I have so many fond memories of Bob (and Barb) during our times at Mazinaw, the early days of their family when I went to visit, and the very rare occurrences when our paths crossed through the years.
It's hard to think of him without a smile on my face. Despite the distance and time, Bob and Barb were still treasured friends. I'd pour myself a cup of tea and wallow in their annual (post) Christmas letter. It not only provided tales of family and friends, travel and joys, but most importantly evidence that Bob's wonderful sense of humour, love and loyalty were consistent through his life.
I remember the Mazinaw year when he supply-taught in Cloyne. I'd be moved to greet him with a bowl of ice cream and chocolate sauce at the bottom of the hill when he returned after work. He seemed to bring out that open-heartedness and desire to respond in many: for him, for causes that were close to his heart, and simple kindnesses for one another that make a difference to the quality of life. What's more? He could translate that into leadership - in education, in community development, and civic contributions.
He'll be missed by so many. May his nearest and dearest be comforted by those of us who celebrate his life and the many positive marks he has left on individuals, groups and communities.

Sincere condoléances to you Barb and your family.. My first encounter with him was when he was a teacher and principal at the Front of Leeds and Lansdowne Public School, my son Marc and daughter Lynn and I remember his quiet voice, his stern but fair dealing with all his students. We were very sad to have heard the news recently. Bob was a wonderful gent and his family a huge part of mine and the Harding's Mallorytown experience. We often talked about our shared passion for teaching and he made us all laugh about anecdotes about Arthur Harding's strange and wonderful ways. We are very grateful to have the Morrisons as friends and will truly miss Bob. The Winnipeg Hardings xoxo

Dear Barbara and Family;
Please accept our sincere condolences. Bob played a very special role in my involvement in the community. As a colleague on council, I could always rely upon his solid and calming advice. I called him “the voice of reason.” His leadership in so many areas made our community one of the best places to live. We will miss him greatly.
Sincerely, Roger & Roxanne Haley
