Mr. Beckstead Deepest sympathies on the passing of your dear wife, Arlie. I was fortunate to have had her as a teacher at Central and she was such a wonderful & caring person who had a postive impact on so many young lives. I believe you would find it very difficult to find any one of her former students who didn't say that she was their favourite. She will be fondly remembered by many today. Harry I am so sorry for your loss. I used to pick Arlie up for work and we would drive together. She could never get over how I kept my white sneakers so clean, we laughed about that many times. What a lovely lady!

One of the best teachers I ever had, Mrs B and Harry were not only my teachers at Central but neighbors and many years later customers too. Mrs B had a great eye for colour and style which was evident in her appearance and her home. A light has definitely gone out of the world, So very sorry for your loss Harry

Remembering my beautiful cousin Arlie who always brought happiness to our house. Admired her greatly as an inspiring teacher, and for her creative, artistic talent. She enjoyed life to the fullest and helped those around her do the same. My Mom, Vera Taylor, was proud to call her her niece. I will always be grateful she was part of my life.

As a Central Public School student in the sixties I was fortunate to be taught and guided by a terrific team of teachers. Mrs. Beckstead was very much a key member of that fine group. She truly cared about each and every one of us. Arlie Beckstead made positive impression on my life. She will be forever remembered by me. Condolences to her loving husband, Harry.

We at Central all loved her as Miss Morris. We were concerned (ok, jealous) when she married Harry until we learned (visiting them in their first apartment on King St.) he was a fine guy, and since we were all too young for her accepted him. Harry, sorry man.

Sincere condolences Harry. I am so sorry for your loss. She was my art teacher at Boundary Street Public school when we moved to Prescott as new immigrants. Despite me not speaking English when I first arrived, she always showed kindness and patience. I always remember her and you, Harry, with the fondest of memories. Condolences to Harry. Arlie was a super teacher and mentor during my school years at Central Public in Prescott. And beside teaching academics, I enjoyed the dance classes as part of the physical ed. Not so sure the boys did as much as the girls.! R.I.P
