Obituary of Gerard Joseph Glowka
Suddenly entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday July 8th, 2024. Jerry Glowka of Addison age 70 years. Beloved husband of Jaqueline Turansky. Loving father of Raven Turansky, Micah Turansky (Nadya) and Brazil Turansky (Maximilan). Cherished grandfather of Killian, Layla, Luna, Mira and the late River. Dear son of the late Jane and Edward Glowka; and brother of Ellen McCartney (Lyle), Daken Ariel (Korianne), Annie Wood (Brian) and Mary Wylde (Greg). Also missed by nieces and nephews, Karen, Colleen, Drew, Jenna, Hilary, Meghan, Charlotte and Cooper, and many friends.
Jerry will be fondly remembered for his larger than life stories, dedication to knowledge and learning, and his devotion to his friends and family. He brought the party with him no matter where he went and his passion for science and the world around him was unmatched. So many people locally and around the globe will feel this loss and we welcome all friends and family to rejoice in the wonderful life he has led.
Family and Friends will be received, for a time to remember Jerry, at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Sunday July 14th, 2024 between 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. In memory of Jerry, donations to the Canadian Museum of Nature would be greatly appreciated. It was one of his favourite places and he has a wonderful story about shrunken heads hiding somewhere in the museum.
