My parents, Bill and Mary Leeder, knew Ron and Elaine from many years ago. Dad and Ron grew up behind each other in Brockville and history repeated itself when they bought houses behind each other on Manor Dr/Somerset Pl. Dad and Ron were both with DuPont in Brockville and both ended up in Mississauga. I worked for Ron in Export and DuPont/NOVA in both Mississauga and Sarnia. My husband, Al Glasspoole, also worked with Ron and DuPont and NOVA. He was a pleasure to work for and with and was an absolute gentleman. Sincere condolences from my family to yours. Mary-Ellen Leeder, Al Glasspoole, Mary and Greg Leeder.

To the Burrell Family
I have always given credit to your Dad for “turning” me. I arrived very wet behind the ears, to work in the accounting group for the Textile Division at DuPont in 1980. All my dreams/nightmares as an accountant went out the window when Ron pulled me aside to get me up to speed. The tutorial on everything from filament to fabric, and his obvious love of selling struck a note with me. I was sitting on the wrong side of the desk and thus began my career in sales!! He was a genuine gentleman with a ready smile for all. Ron was a real professional who garnered the respect of everyone who worked with him. My sincere condolences to the entire Birrell family as you have lost a very special patriarch.
With respect,
Karen Quinn

Petey, Steve & Susan: Just found out about your father's passing. So sorry to hear about this. He was a wonderful guy, as was your mom, Elaine was a sweetheart of a lady. I miss both my God Parents but we do have all the memories in Brockville, Montreal & Rehoboth Beach. Was also surprised & sorry to hear about Dickie & his wife. Belated sympathy love to the family.

My sincerest condolences to the Birrell family on the passing of Ron. I had the privilege of working with Ron for many years, both as a co-worker and as my boss, until he moved back to Brockville. Even after that, I continued to have the pleasure of working with him in his various roles. I always admired his low-key approach, his friendly demeanor, and his unwavering positive outlook. Ron’s presence was truly a gift, and he will be deeply missed. Rest In Peace Ron!
